Black River Tram Stabilization

The Black River Pump Station, located approximately 70 miles northeast of San Carlos, AZ provides the municipal water for the towns of Clifton-Morenci, Arizona. The tram is used to transport vital pumps and parts from the canyon top to the bottom, which is about 480 feet. The summer monsoons of 2004 greatly eroded the tram foundations and surrounding areas necessitating foundation clean up and the import of engineered fill. The entire area around, above and below received a minimum of 6” of anchored and placed shotcrete.
